Question: I’ve recently been experiencing a strange odor from my vaginal area as well as itching after sex & strange pimple-like growths. Is it time for an appointment?

Answer: Yes, it is time for an appointment.  There are a number of reasons you may be experiencing these symptoms, but a discussion and exam with your gynecologist could give you the answers you need and address these symptoms.

Question: Can you get endometriosis after a partial hysterectomy? I had it when I was in my 20's.

Answer: Endometriosis is a complicated medical problem.  For some, removal of the uterus improves your symptoms.  However, if the ovaries were not removed at time of hysterectomy (as I suspect they were not for you based on your young age at time of hysterectomy), it is possible for the symptoms of endometriosis to recur.  Unfortunately, there are a number of reasons that women experience chronic pain, so if you are having recurrent pain symptoms you will likely benefit from a discussion with your gynecologist to help investigate these symptoms.
