Diagnosis and treatments
How virtual diagnosis works
During your virtual visit, a Mayo Clinic physician conducts a thorough evaluation using secure video technology. They will review your symptoms, medical history and any relevant health information available in your Mayo Clinic Patient Portal. Through real-time conversation and visual assessment, they determine a diagnosis and develop a personalized care plan tailored to your needs.
Treatment options available
Based on your diagnosis, your physician will recommend appropriate treatment options designed to address your condition quickly and effectively. This may include prescribing medications sent directly to your preferred pharmacy, ordering laboratory tests or additional diagnostic services at a Mayo Clinic Health System location near you, or providing evidence-based self-care guidance. When appropriate, your provider may also schedule follow-up care to ensure your condition improves and your treatment plan remains effective.
