Michele Hoffman, C-IAYT

I chose to be a yoga therapist because I wanted to reduce suffering and help people live up to their full potential. Yoga therapy recognizes that we are multidimensional beings, and it offers benefits physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. As a yoga therapist, I specialize in working with people of all ages who are living with health challenges. I offer individual yoga therapy sessions to help people recover from injuries and surgeries, manage chronic conditions, reduce or eliminate symptoms and increase their overall health and vitality. I also teach small group therapeutic classes, such as Yoga for Low Back Pain, Yoga for Grief Support and Yoga for Diabetes.

I was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota, and worked for 17 years in the IT field in higher education. I completed my yoga teacher certification in 2001, quit my job and started teaching therapeutic yoga full time. I completed my yoga therapy certification in 2010 and started working for Mayo Clinic Health System in the Integrative Medicine and Health and Hospice departments.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing yoga, cooking, entertaining friends, and spending time in nature with my two dogs. I also enjoy volunteering for Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice with my dog, Sammy, who is a certified therapy dog.
