Market Place Café (St. Francis cafeteria)

The Market Place, a full-service restaurant with made-to-order breakfast, lunch and dinner items, is on the first floor of the hospital. Hot entrees, soups, salads and desserts are offered daily, along with weekly and daily specials. A grab-and-go sandwich station with hot and cold items also is available.

Vending machines

Vending machines are available 24/7 on the first floor of the hospital near the entrance to The Market Place. Options include hot and cold beverages, snacks, and cold fruit and sandwiches.

The gift shop is part of the Mayo Clinic Store. While the focus of the store is on medical equipment and supplies, patrons are offered a selection of greeting cards, candy, gum and small items. The store is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Room service

Room service provides patient meals daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Patients order off a restaurant-style menu and have their selections delivered to their hospital room.

Support Person Program

When a patient is admitted to any inpatient department, we ask the patient or family member to identify one support person who will be the primary patient representative to receive information and updates about the patient's condition. This support person also is responsible for communicating these updates to family and friends and acting as the patient's advocate.

Each patient is assigned a security code. To protect the privacy of the patient and allow the nurse to spend the maximum amount of time with the patient, the support person must have this security code to obtain information about the patient.

Consider these tips:

  • Let Mayo Clinic Health System know if you do not want your name and contact information to be given to callers and visitors if they ask for your updated clinical information.
  • Take notes when receiving medical information so you can refer to them when updating family and friends.
  • Ask for information about CaringBridge to post online updates.
