Mayo Clinic Health System is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the quality of life, health and well-being of its communities. The organization builds and sustains relationships in the communities where it serves patients and employees live and work. These relationships are vital to remaining a trusted health care provider and committed community partner.
Commitment to Community
Key components of the commitment to community are:
Contribute to an enhanced quality of life and vibrant communities
Demonstrate and showcase its commitment to community health care
Engage employees through education and community outreach opportunities
Impact public policy to support communities
Communicate its commitment to the community
To carry out the work, Mayo Clinic Health System collaborates with community stakeholders, develops and implements programs, and participates in activities that improve community health and address the social determinants of health. This is done through addressing Community Health Needs Assessment priorities; giving back to the community through financial and in-kind donations; providing volunteers at community events and educational presentations; collaborating with partners through coalitions, boards and special projects; and connecting the community with resources for general health and wellness.
