Edina Bongkye Kavaarpuo, M.B., Ch.B.

I am a resident in the Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program in Mankato, Minnesota.

I believe physicians are frontline advocates for their patients and families, navigating complex systems to ensure they receive holistic, coordinated care. I am driven to serve in this dual role — providing compassionate, comprehensive care while working to build a more equitable, patient-centered healthcare system.

My goal is to ensure that every patient feels valued and supported through empathetic, evidence-based and individualized care. This commitment is rooted in my upbringing in a village in Ghana, where communal living fostered resilience and prosperity despite limited resources, instilling in me a deep sense of responsibility to my community and a lasting commitment to equitable healthcare. In practice, I aim to embody these values by actively listening to my patients and providing evidence-based guidance, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health.

Beyond clinical care, I am dedicated to advocacy and service within the Mankato community, with a particular focus on children and other vulnerable populations. Outside of medicine, I enjoy visiting museums and libraries, biking with my kid, whom I share with my brilliant partner, Kavaar, and spending quality time with family and friends.
