    Infectious Diseases We Treat

Infectious diseases consultations are available for:

    • AIDS/HIV infections - AIDS is a chronic, life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV); HIV interferes with your body's ability to fight the organisms that cause disease.
    • Bacterial infections - infection caused by bacteria.
    • Endocarditis - an infection of the inner lining of your heart.
    • Fever of unknown origin - fever occurs when an area of your brain called the hypothalamus — also known as your body's thermostat — shifts the set point of your normal body temperature upward.
    • Fungal infections - inflammatory condition caused by a fungus.
    • Orthopedic infections - infection in bones or muscles.
    • Osteomyelitis - infection in the bone.
    • Travel and international medicine - preparation for a healthy trip outside the United States.
    • Valley fever - fungal infection caused by coccidioides organisms.
    • Vector-borne infections - infection spread by insects such as mosquitoes, ticks and fleas.
    • Viral infections - infection caused by a virus.
