Several Family Medicine providers, and medical, nurse practitioner and physician assistant students, have formed the student education team at the Clairemont Campus in Eau Claire. Together, the provider and student listen, assess, diagnose, educate and treat you. As a patient, you can choose the student education team for a paired appointment with a student and a Family Medicine provider.
What does a student education team appointment mean for you?
You will receive the most up-to-date care with the student-led team. The student and provider will gather a history and perform a physical assessment. The appointment time may be longer due to the thorough assessment of the student and provider. At times, appointments can last up to one hour.
Your willingness to being seen by a student contributes to the learning of future health care providers. Students learn from patients, as well as their mentors and educational institutions. In addition, you become a team with the student and provider providing extended discussion about your concerns.
The student education team acknowledges the sensitive nature of your visit. Your medical concerns are kept private.
The student education team has immediate openings for patients to be seen and to book appointments.
