James (Jim) Schaefer, C.H.T., O.T.

I am an occupational therapist and a certified hand therapist with decades of practice in hand and upper extremity orthopedic rehabilitation. I specialize in complex hand and upper injuries both surgical and non-surgical.

I have many creative ideas on splinting and treatment for elbow, wrist and hand injuries. My goal is to help patients regain their function of the upper extremities to maximize living skills. I treat patients from across the life spectrum. I believe in a strong focus on patient education and empowerment to assist patients in achieving their goals.

I grew up near Chilton, Wisconsin, and am the second youngest of nine children. Our family operated a dairy farm, and I developed a strong work ethic from my upbringing. I enjoy biodynamic gardening, hiking and outdoor activities in my spare time. I have been an official for the last 30 years in the sports of football and softball at the high school level. I am a replay football official in the Mid-American Conference. I enjoy open communication with people to explore continued growth in life.
