Wound and Ostomy Care Nurses specialize in the care of patients with selected disorders of gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems, such as stomas, draining wounds, fistulas, vascular ulcers, neuropathic ulcers, and pressure ulcers on an in-patient and outpatient basis. Hospital staff may consult Wound and Ostomy Care Nurses for all skin, wound, and ostomy needs during the patient's hospital stay.
Outpatient services are available at the Wound and Ostomy Clinic located within the Department of Surgery on the La Crosse Campus. We provide direct care to ostomy and wound patients in the region through provider referral. Two Certified Wound and Ostomy Care Registered Nurses operate the clinic with supervision of an on-site surgeon. You may see a Wound and Ostomy Care Nurse with the Surgeon at your appointment, or the Nurse only.
