    Long-term Success

Follow-up is an important part of the bariatric surgery process. After surgery, you will meet with the registered dietitian who will help you maintain a healthful diet and make sure you are getting the proper amounts of protein and vitamins. You will see the dietitian at three weeks, three months, six months, nine months, 12 months, 18 months, 24 months and then annually.

You will follow up with your surgeon or another clinician on our bariatric surgery team several times in the year after surgery with annual visits indefinitely. You can call the bariatric coordinator at any time between visits if you have any questions or concerns.

Support group meetings also can help you achieve long-term success. Meetings are held once a month and include talks from multidisciplinary team members, such as dietitians, exercise physiologists and behavioral health professionals.
