    Provider's Bio

I view my delivery of mental healthcare as a collaboration between myself and my patients. My patients can expect to have an initial period of time during which I do my best to get to know them, their individual stories and their needs. This information is then used to guide treatment recommendations. Recommendations are just that – recommendations, and I work with patients to find the best plan of care for their unique needs, keeping in mind an underlying philosophy of introducing the least amount of risk and maximizing potential for benefit.

I was born and raised on the western side of Wisconsin near Eau Claire. I moved to Milwaukee for medical school and residency. During my time in Milwaukee, I had the opportunity to learn from, and train in, a community comprised of diverse individuals struggling with a breadth of illnesses. I believe this helped me to become an empathetic, compassionate physician who listens to and understands the backgrounds of my patients, where they come from and how that has impacted them. During my residency, I took a special interest in perinatal psychiatry and completed a six-month rotation in this.

During my free time, I enjoy running, playing sports and spending time with my dog.
