My practice philosophy is guided by the qualities of a five-star physician — a compassionate care provider, thoughtful decision-maker, clear communicator, community advocate and collaborative member of the healthcare team. I believe medicine should be personalized because every patient is different. Each person brings unique health needs, experiences, values, culture, family circumstances and goals. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I strive to understand the whole person — including physical, mental and social well-being — and develop a care plan that is effective, evidence-based and realistic for the patient’s life.

Patients can expect me to listen carefully, explain their condition and options clearly, and involve them in decisions about their health. I value prevention as much as treatment and want patients to feel empowered to become active partners in their care. I also recognize that excellent healthcare requires teamwork and responsible use of available resources. I work closely with patients, families and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, continuous and high-quality care. My goal is for every patient to leave feeling heard, respected, reassured and confident about the next steps in their care.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and am proud to now call Albert Lea home. Before settling here, I lived in Los Angeles, gained experience working in primary care clinics in Hawaii, and spent six years in Grand Forks, North Dakota. These experiences introduced me to people from many different backgrounds and communities.

Being a husband, father and dog owner has given me an even greater appreciation for the everyday joys and challenges that affect a family’s health. I look forward to building lasting relationships with my patients and caring for individuals and families throughout the different stages of their lives.

My wife is also a family physician and, together, we enjoy raising our young daughter and spending time with our mini Goldendoodle, Marley. Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing basketball. During sports physicals, I sometimes jokingly tell my student-athlete patients that I could still beat them one-on-one, although they may have a different opinion! I also enjoy exploring Minnesota with my family, especially its lakes, parks and outdoor trails. My other interests include biking, skiing and working on home and automotive projects. Right now, I’m trying to achieve the perfect lawn. We love welcoming visiting family and friends, discovering new places and becoming more involved in the Albert Lea community.
