Joshua Baruth, M.D., Ph.D.

As an adult outpatient and geriatric psychiatrist, I am dedicated to providing high‑quality, evidence‑based care to rural communities and underserved populations.

I have been working within the Mayo Clinic Health System since 2021, after completing residency and a geriatric‑psychiatry fellowship. In addition to my clinical duties, I have a longstanding interest in clinical and epidemiological research. I have received numerous research awards at national and international levels through the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry and the International Psychogeriatric Association. I have authored more than 20 peer‑reviewed research articles and have collaborations with the Rochester Epidemiology Project and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing drums and guitar, being outdoors, and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings.
