Joel Beachey, M.D.

I am a cardiovascular disease specialist with additional focused training in advanced echocardiography and preventive cardiology. I am passionate about patient education and always aim to spend the time needed with my patients to make sure they fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options before they leave the clinic. I fully believe in shared decision-making between patients and their clinicians to find a joint solution that is tailor-fit to each patient.

I grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota, and completed my undergraduate studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, Minnesota, with a bachelor's degree in biology and minor in music. I have a passion for music and have played piano since age 5. I'm most partial to Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy. I also sang in choir throughout high school and college and had the opportunity to tour with the Gustavus Choir across the U.S., and to Spain and Portugal. I'm also a big fan of more contemporary music, and am excited join the Eau Claire community and explore the numerous music festivals offered here.

I otherwise love spending time with family and friends, traveling, exploring local restaurants, cooking and occasionally bingeing a great TV series, even if they disappoint you in the final season (I'm looking at you, Game of Thrones). I'm also a bit of a Star Wars nerd, exemplified by the name of my energetic corgi, Boba Fettch.
