My practice philosophy is grounded in compassionate, evidence-based and patient-centered psychiatric care. I believe mental health and substance use disorders are deeply interconnected and are best treated through a collaborative, respectful and individualized approach. My goal is to help patients improve not only symptoms but also overall functioning, quality of life, relationships and long-term stability.
My background in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry has shaped my interest in caring for patients with complex and co-occurring conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, psychotic disorders and substance use disorders. I value combining psychotherapeutic approaches with thoughtful pharmacologic treatment, including medication-assisted treatment when appropriate. I am particularly passionate about improving access to high-quality psychiatric care in community and underserved settings. I strive to create a clinical environment where patients feel heard, respected and actively involved in treatment decisions while maintaining clear professional standards and clinical rigor. In addition to clinical care, I value education, research and interdisciplinary collaboration as important parts of advancing psychiatry and improving patient outcomes.
I am a psychiatrist with training in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry at Mayo Clinic. Prior to residency, I completed a research fellowship focused on severe mental illness, depression and the impact of social media on mental health. My approach to patient care emphasizes evidence-based treatment, collaboration and individualized care tailored to each patient’s goals and needs. I treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions and strive to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected and actively involved in their treatment.
In addition to clinical care, I have remained involved in research, education and academic medicine through publications, presentations, and teaching activities. My professional interests include improving access to mental health care and advancing effective, patient-centered psychiatric treatment. I am committed to providing compassionate, high-quality psychiatric care and helping patients improve their overall well-being and quality of life.
