Why Volunteer?
Mayo Clinic Health System volunteers donate their time in the following areas:
Auxiliary
The Auxiliary supports Mayo Clinic Health System through volunteering and fundraising efforts.
Meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month, September – May.
Hospice
Volunteers are needed to provide support to hospice patients and caregiver respite in Goodhue (MN) and Pierce (WI) Counties. Our Hospice volunteers lend companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their family caregivers in many ways.

Caring Captains
Assist patients in/out of their vehicles in the patient drop-off area. The Caring Captains will help patients and visitors find the appropriate registration or destination. The Caring Captains will also assist patients who are being discharged from the hospital or surgical area to their vehicle. Volunteering as a Caring Captain will require some lifting and standing for most of the shift.
8 – 11 a.m.
12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Monday - Friday
Caring Hands
Provide hand massages to the care center residents or hospital patients to relieve stress. Volunteering for the Caring Hands will require mostly sitting.
Flexible hours – requires a couple of hours at your convenience.
Volunteer Driver
Drives and delivers materials to Rochester, Wabasha, Red Wing or St. Paul. Volunteering as a driver will require a valid driver’s license and some lifting.

Telecare
Answers incoming telephone calls from our Telecare clients. Volunteering as a Telecare operator will require mostly sitting.
7:30 – 8:00 a.m.
Sunday – Saturday
Ironing Lab Coats
Iron lab coats for medical staff. Volunteering for this position requires mostly standing.
One hour in the afternoon
One day per week
Bloodmobile
Calls upon individuals for blood donations. Volunteering in the bloodmobile will require mostly sitting.

Clerical
Provides clerical support to staff as needed. Volunteering as a clerical assistant will require sitting and walking.

Surgical Communicator
Relays information between families and nursing staff during scheduled surgeries. Volunteering as a Surgical Communicator will require sitting and walking.

9:15 – 11:45 a.m.
Third Thursday of every month
Mail Delivery
Delivers mail to care center resident and hospital patients. Volunteering to deliver mail requires mostly walking.
1:30 – 2 p.m.
Sunday - Saturday
