Organ Donation

Over 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for organ transplant, and every 10 minutes another person is added to the national waiting list.

Unfortunately, many never get the call saying that a suitable donor organ — and a second chance at life — has been found. It's estimated that 15 people die each day in U.S. because the organ they need is not donated in time.

By donating your organs after you die, you can save or heal more than 75 lives. Many families say that knowing their loved one helped save other lives helped them cope with their loss.

Becoming an organ donor is easy. You can indicate you want to be a donor by:
  • Registering with your state's donor registry. Check the list at organdonor.gov.
  • Designating your choice on your driver's license when you get or renew your license.
  • Making sure your family knows your wishes regarding donation.
