Provider's Bio
I became interested in joining the Mayo Clinic Health System Nephrology team as it is one of the largest and well-respected renal and hypertension practices in the world with a variety of subspecialized experts providing care to thousands of patients annually. I appreciate these experts seek and utilize the latest research to diagnose and treat this diverse and evolving population. During my previous role in cardiovascular surgery and during my nurse practitioner education, I had the opportunity to care for those with varying nephrology needs. I grew an appreciation for the emotional and physical complexity patients possessed. It is rewarding for me to have the opportunity and tools to follow patients through their healthcare journeys towards a better quality of life.
I live on a farm where my family has lived and farmed for the past 150 years. I have four horses and have been riding since I was a child. I have proudly bred two of my horses with the hope of showing them at the national level some day. I have two dogs and enjoy competing in the American Kennel Club obedience and rally with my St. Bernard. I also have been working on a new skill in chip carving — a form of Norwegian woodcarving.
