BUTTERFIELD, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System's mobile health clinic, with its exam rooms, on-site laboratory and pharmacy services, provides health care to patients in rural communities across southern Minnesota.
Now this mobile health clinic will come to Butterfield ― 123 Second St. N. at the corner of Drake Avenue and Second Street North ― on these dates:
- Tuesday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 14, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Oct. 26, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Oct. 28, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
More dates will be added in the future based on patient demand.
"The mobile health clinic is part of Mayo Clinic's commitment to innovation and creative solutions that serve local communities," says Gokhan Anil, M.D., regional chair of clinical practice, Mayo Clinic Health System in Southwest Minnesota.
Patients can receive preventive health screenings and manage chronic diseases with services that include:
- Treatment for acute illness or infection.
- Vaccinations, including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
- Preventive services and health care screenings.
- Medication refills and checks.
- Chronic disease checks.
- Warfarin management.
- Wellness visits.
- Pediatric care.
Pacemaker checks, specialty consults and follow-ups, and prenatal visits can be conducted virtually from the mobile health clinic through video appointments with Mayo Clinic experts.
"The mobile health clinic is an extension of Mayo Clinic Health System's virtual care options," says Dr. Anil. "In addition to the mobile health clinic, patients can access their care team through Patient Online Services, Mayo Clinic Health System's patient portal; seek real-time services for basic care needs via Express Care Online; and get expert medical advice from nurses by calling the Nurse Care Line."
