LA CROSSE, Wis. ― The Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program in La Crosse has been ranked No. 1 in the Midwest and No. 7 in the U.S. on Doximity's 2022 Residency Navigator. Last year, the program was ranked No. 2 in the Midwest and No. 8 in the nation.
Program rank is determined by three factors:
- Resident and recent alumni satisfaction
- Reputation among board-certified family medicine physicians
- Objective data, including research output
"The continued recognition for our residency program is very exciting," says John Merfeld, M.D., residency program director. "We are committed to providing an excellent education for the next generation of family physicians, and we are so grateful for the incredible work of our faculty and staff, the resident physicians and the organization to make our program what it is."
