Back-to-school, sports physicals offered in La Crosse, Onalaska

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Mayo Clinic Health System will offer back-to-school and sports physicals for area students who are entering preschool to 12th grade. The comprehensive exams will include updating children on immunizations, if needed, along with completing any required forms needed for school or athletics.

Beginning July 20, the exams are by appointment only and can be scheduled through the Mayo Clinic App or Patient Online Services, or by calling the clinics:

    • La Crosse Family Health Clinic — 608-392-9103
    • Onalaska Family Medicine — 608-392-5001

"It's important to check your child's development, as well as height and weight, to make sure they are growing appropriately for their age," says Nicole Beine M.D., a family medicine physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse. "Seeing each child allows us to identify areas that may impact your child's ability to learn and grow. It is a great way to make sure your child is healthy and ready for the new school year."

A parent or guardian must accompany a student under 18 to the exam. Participants and those accompanying them must wear a mask at the appointment and follow all directions from door screening staff. This may include mask checks and visitor protocols.

Students should dress comfortably for the exam. If athletes wear glasses or contact lenses, they should bring them.
