The Heartsaver CPR/AED program targets lay responders (coaches, teachers, daycare providers, etc). It does not meet the requirements of health care provider basic life support. Students are trained in the steps of CPR, barrier devices, relief of foreign body airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation in adults, children, and infants. The course lasts approximately 3 hours depending on the size of the class. A textbook is included in the cost of the class and will be provided that day. Upon successful completion of the course, which includes a CPR and AED skills test, students receive a Heartsaver CPR/AED course completion card which is valid for two years.
The cost of the course is $25.
