We seek to be at the forefront of scientific innovation for sports medicine, health and performance focused research. We aim to not only be a leading research force in this area but also strive to bridge the gap between research and its practical application. Through our research efforts, we aim to also serve the community and offer resources for those wanting to improve their health, wellness and performance.
As people continue to live longer, the importance of living a healthy lifestyle seems to become more and more vital. Exercise and nutrition interventions can have a large impact on clinical health and physical well-being. With the recent obesity epidemic on the rise, the general public rather than athletes, may be the ones that can benefit the most from proper exercise and nutrition practices. Therefore, clinical research is just as important in the discipline of exercise & sports medicine as sports performance and because of this, there are several opportunities for this division to be an integral part of this process.
To help educate people on how they can improve their well-being by taking a preventative approach to their health. Through our research efforts and community outreach programs, we aim to help bring awareness of these issues and how to properly incorporate simple strategies to help people at a local, regional and national level.
To establish a comprehensive analytical system for athletes, active individuals and sports medicine professionals that would allow practitioners to evaluate an patient (diet, body composition, training goals etc.) and determine the best course of action (optimal diet, training and supplementation regimen) to optimize their health and performance.
To help bridge the gap between what occurs in a lab and what athletes and the general public can actually benefit from by implementing minimally invasive testing and recommendations.
