    Infection Prevention

One of the best ways to prevent the spread of germs is proper hand hygiene. Make sure those caring for you and your visitors have cleaned their hands. Don't hesitate to ask any staff member if they have cleaned their hands.

Respiratory infections can be easily spread to others. Remember to cover your cough or sneeze and encourage your visitors to do the same.

If you are found with certain kinds of infectious diseases, you will notice your caregivers wearing a gown and gloves while caring for you. You may also be restricted to your room and your visitors will need to check with the nursing station for instructions before entering your room. Check with your provider or nurse if you have any questions about infection prevention or isolation precautions.
