    Neurological Rehabilitation

Physical and occupational therapists treat patients with neurological dysfunctions as a result of trauma, genetics and disease processes. Therapists coordinate with your primary physician, surgeon, and family members in order to develop you a comprehensive clinical and home treatment plan. The goal of neurological rehabilitation is to maximize your independent functioning within the community and to address your specific needs and concerns. An in depth evaluation is utilized to determine your specific areas of limitation and to develop a plan of care consistent with your abilities and goals.

You will work with therapists with a focus on the following:

    • Neuromuscular re-education to teach proper body mechanics and movement patterns Instruction in the use of adaptive equipment to enhance function and independence
    • Fine motor and dexterity
    • Gross motor training
    • Balance and coordination
    • Sensory reintegration
    • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation
