Visits From Your Care Team

Bedside reports
Bedside report is how we transition your care from one nurse to the next. The oncoming nurse will be introduced to you and review your plan of care, as well as important test results, exams, etc. This is an excellent time for you to be involved with planning your care during your stay. Family members are encouraged to participate.
Bedside report times are:
- 7:15-7:30 a.m.
- 3:15-3:30 p.m.
- 7:15-7:30 p.m.
Hourly rounding and calling your nurse
You will be visited regularly throughout the day and night for assistance in the bathroom, a change in position or pain medication, if appropriate. Other needs will be addressed in a timely manner through your use of the nurse call light in between rounding times.
For your safety, please use the nurse call light when you are in need of assistance.
Provider rounding
Your provider will visit you at least once every day. The time of the visit will vary based on your individual care plan and the needs of other patients. Patient care staff will let you know when your provider will visit.
In between visits with your provider, use the notepad in your admission folder to write down questions or concerns that you would like to address with your health care team.
Vital signs
We may need to monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and temperature several times throughout the day and night. These are important measures of care that help us assess your current condition and provide appropriate care.
Rapid response
A Rapid Response Team (RRT) responds to calls when a patient or visitor appears to be in medical distress or in danger of a medical emergency. The team will work together to evaluate the patient and provide necessary treatment.
Patients or visitors can request the RRT when the patient's condition appears to be worsening or if you feel something is not right.
