Mayo Clinic OB Nest is a program for women with low-risk pregnancies looking for a more active role in their prenatal care and the convenience of fewer clinic visits. In this program, prenatal care combines traditional office visits with Connected Care visits and in-home monitoring.
At your initial obstetrics (OB) visit, your provider will determine whether you are a candidate for Mayo Clinic OB Nest. If you are interested in participating and approved by your provider, you will be given the equipment and materials to begin. Throughout your pregnancy, you will listen to your baby’s heart beat and measure your own blood pressure at home with a fetal doppler and blood pressure cuff. You will communicate with an experienced OB nurse through scheduled phone calls or messaging on Patient Online Services, our online patient portal, during a Connected Care visit, approximately every other visit that you have with your provider.
During these visits, you will provide routine information to your nurse, including:
Your OB nurses will monitor your progression through your pregnancy, provide answers to common questions, review your plan of care, help with scheduling future appointments and be available by phone or the online portal to meet your needs and concerns.
