The Department of Endocrinology manages patients of all ages by providing personalized medical care according to each patient's needs.
The endocrinologist is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition. Endocrinology provides consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with all types of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disease, and metabolic bone disease such as osteoporosis, and a variety of problems involving other hormone-secreting glands. Problems treated include disorders affecting the parathyroid, adrenals, ovaries, testes, and pituitary gland.
The professional staff and allied health staff perform with the highest regard for the patients they serve by providing and ensuring the most effective medical care possible while maintaining respect and compassion for each individual. A multi-disciplinary team consisting of our endocrinologist, certified diabetes educators, registered nurses and dieticians provide medical management to referred patients for specialized education and care of diabetes in children, adults and pregnant women.
Appointments are offered via facility-to-facility video visits, which reduce the need to travel far and enable patients to receive care close to home.
For a facility-to-facility video visit, patients arrive to the clinic and a nurse connects them with the specialist via video. The innovative technology uses a Bluetooth stethoscope, a USB otoscope and high definition cameras that can move and zoom in for a high-quality physical exam and personal conversation with the specialist.
