- Small quantities of acceptable items
Organizations wishing to donate food for staff are asked to share details here.
For staff safety, food must be individually packaged. Items packaged so that multiple people access food from a single container, such as pizza, cannot be accepted. Mayo Clinic Health System prefers to determine which unit, department or building receives the food based on who has received past donations and the number of meals being offered. Donors are asked to provide at least eight hours of notice to aid in coordination.
Cloth masks are now recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Mayo Clinic for staff who do not work in patient care areas but are within a building where care is provided. Masks also are recommended for staff working in buildings where there is no patient care but social distancing is difficult. Because of this change, donations of cloth masks are now being accepted. Donors are asked to follow CDC guidance on cloth face coverings for design and materials. Donors can drop off cloth masks at Mayo Clinic Health System locations in La Crosse and Sparta, Wisconsin, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations should be left in marked bins along these driveways:
- La Crosse — A drop bin outside the Family Health Clinic on the southwest corner of the Clinic Building (enter from 10th Street)
- Sparta — A drop bin outside the building west entrance
Donors should not enter the buildings. Donors are asked to include a note with their donation, sharing their name, number of masks, and their email or mailing address.
