This virtual six-session group therapy program is for parents of children ages 4–15 who have been diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.
The group is facilitated by behavioral health professionals and utilizes behavior therapy and behavioral parent training to help those with children who have ADHD be a more effective parent.
Behavior therapy is an effective treatment for children with ADHD that can improve his or her behavior, self-control and self-esteem.
Behavioral parent training, or BPT, is the recommended first line of treatment for children diagnosed with ADHD. BPT teaches parents how to parent their children through positive parenting techniques. When used by parents, these techniques teach children to better control their own behavior, and lead to improved functioning at school, home and in relationships.
Participants will be expected to attend all sessions. A one-on-one introduction also will be scheduled to discuss the group format and set goals.
Fees apply for this program. Check with your insurance carrier as group therapy costs often are a covered service.
