High rankings for quality patient care received
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Two Mayo Clinic Health System locations have been recognized as top performers in the 2023 Bernard A. Birnbaum, M.D. Quality Leadership Ranking by Vizient, Inc., a healthcare performance improvement company.
The rankings, based on the Vizient Quality and Accountability Study, measure performance on the quality of patient care in six domains: safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness and equity.
In the nationwide study, Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, ranked No. 6 among 154 large, specialized complex care medical centers, while Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, Minnesota, ranked No. 8 among 333 community hospitals.

Ranked No. 11 among 154 large, specialized complex care medical centers - Mayo Clinic Hospital in Florida
Ranked No. 14 among 154 large, specialized complex care medical centers - Mayo Clinic Hospital — Rochester
Ranked No. 3 among 116 academic medical centers

The study also includes data from Vizient's clinical and core measures databases, the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Healthcare Safety Network.
